Wet n Wild by Fergie Eyelashes

Wet n Wild has been releasing some products in collaboration with Fergie for about a year now.  One of the new products they just released was these three very different sets of eyelashes. These are available at Walgreens for $4.99 each and they are being called Fergie Fringe.
The first set of lashes are called Fergie Glam, these look like lashes that are not for the faint of heart.  They are a bold, strong set meant for someone who is really looking to amp up their lashes.  The packaging even says that lash glue is included.  I have not tried these lashes so I cannot vouch for the strength or quality of the glue that is included.

The second set is called Flirt, and these are more wearable but still "flirty" as they are so adeptly named.  There are smaller fringey lashes in between the sassier spikey lashes for that in-between but not over the top flirty eye look.

The final set of lashes is the set called Tease.  These are a bit longer but more natural if that is possible.  The lashes are more feathered in appearance and give that "your lashes but wayyy better look". This would probably be the pair that I would purchase of the bunch.

I would love to hear if you have tried these, or which pair you would most like to try.  Are you Glam, Flirty, or a Tease kinda Gal? :-)

Melissa

Nail Rock Nail Caviar Sets

While at Walgreens recently I came across these Nail Rock Nail Caviar Sets.  If you were interested in rocking the 3D Manicure look at a reasonable price.  Each set is priced at $6.99, which is far less expensive than the original Caviar Manicure set which sold for over $20.00 in Sephora.

These sets are available in Pink, Gold/Multi Color, Turquoise, and Red. I believe that Nail Rock is the same company that designs the Eye Rock eyeliner temporary tattoos.

The instructions seem super simple.  Apply the base coat, roll your finger in the caviar beads, press them into the basecoat, wait 15-20 Minutes and Voila!  Your nails are complete.

This is a trend I have not yet tried but would be interested to hear or see photos if you have.

XOXOXO

Mac Sheen Supreme in Behave and Paint Pot in Soft Ochre

The newest two MAC Cosmetics items I have added to my collection are the Sheen Supreme Lipstick in Behave Yourself and the Paint Pot in Soft Ochre. I have recently fallen madly in love with the sheen supreme formulation so I am happily acquiring more of those formula lipsticks and I finally decided it was time to splurge and purchase a real deal paint pot and see how it held up to the color tattoos that I have been using as eye shadow bases. As always, enjoy the swatch photos below :-)

Most importantly I am a serious sucker for really sleek beautiful packaging.  The sheen supreme lipsticks come in this absolutely gorgeous black metal lipstick tube.  I am in LOVE with this packaging, and I think it is far more beautiful than the typical MAC lipstick bullet.  Okay, Okay, enough gushing over some lipstick packaging.

This shade was certainly more glittery than it appeared online, there are tons of tiny little magical glitter particles throughout this shade.  Behave Yourself is a blue based pink, which means your teeth are going to look more white than they are next to this color.  This shade isnt OVERLY blue based so you also wont look like your semi-dead and it isn't anywhere near as blue based/cartoonish as the Nikki Minaj MAC lipsticks.

Here is the swatch on my lips.  It is a super creamy completely wearable pink with that natural healthy sheen that I adore about these lipsticks.  They do not come off glossy in any way, but I would say that sheen is quite comparable to say the appearance of your natural lips if you lick them.  Just a healthy natural, not too shiny perfect sheen.

The MAC Paint Pot in Soft Ochre is a classic shade to use as an eye shadow base.  I chose this color because it is more yellow based than my skin and it should easily cancel out any underlying veins on my eyelids.

You can see from the swatch on my  hand that this is a great shade for people of my skin tone to evening out eyelids while providing a solid base for more eye shadows.  I must say, I have tried this several times as an eye shadow base and I am really LOVING it.  I would say that this may edge out the color tattoos as a base for me.  I think the tipping point in that determination is that this is a Matte base and not shimmery like most of the color tattoos.

I would love to read your Paint Pot suggestions below!  Do you love the Sheen Supreme Lipsticks? Do you have any color suggestions for a new sheen supreme?

I hope that you all have a Beautiful Day,
XOXOXO,
Melissa

Lime Crime Nail Polish Review and Swatches

In my recent Lime Crime Haul, I ordered two nail polishes.  One in the color Milky Ways, and the other in Lavendairy, each polish sells for $5.99 on the Lime Crime Website.

The packaging is supremely adorable, with the iconic Lime Crime Unicorn.  Lavendairy is a milky beautiful lavender color and Milky Ways is a creamy off white with a peachy yellowish undertone.

Here are photos of the swatches of each of the two colors on the nails.
Here is a photo of my nails on the fourth day, not too shabby right?

And here is a photo of what happened the very next day.  Holy Chip City Batman!  Wowza.  Those chips and flakes came out of no where.  One day the polish was fine, the next huge chunks were flying off of my nails.  The lesson here is that Lime Crime is a four day polish :-) And the fifth day the polish will attempt to abort mission, and jump ship off of your nails. LOL

Pros: This polish applied very smoothly, it was not streaky and had great staying power compared to other higher end polishes like OPI or Essie.  For me Essie almost always chips the next day after polishing, and certianly two days in there are numerous chips.  This polish remained largely chip-free for 4 days.

Cons: This polish is difficult to come by, and can only be ordered from the Lime Crime website or from a very select few retailers.  There is a limited color selection and stock always seems to be out of numerous colors all at once.

Have a Beautiful Day,
XOXOXO Melissa

IPSY Unbagging with Swatches April 2013

IPSY has done it yet again!  I am loving my choice to switch subscriptions, and this month again tops the charts for a $10 a month service.  I hope you enjoy the photo-fest below.

This month I received four items, three of which were FULL SIZED makeup/beauty products in really lovely colors.

The Big, Sexy, Hair POW Powder Play is supposed to give hair volume and texture.  I haven't yet played with this, but I am thrilled to try this out. May hair could certainly use some OOMPH or lift at the roots.

The MICA Beauty Cosmetics shimmer in Earth is totally up my alley.  The shade is that beautiful mixture of slightly pinkish, earthy brown with a lovely shimmery finish.  This item isn't really labeled as an eyeshadow directly on the packaging, however that is the only way that I will be using this loose powder product.

Be a Bombshell Blush in Sweet Cheeks!  Wowza, this is a really beautiful shade.  If I was on the website I would have hands down chosen this color, so I am quite impressed that this is the shade that I received in my bag.  It has a lovely rosey pinky hue about it, and in the pan it looks like it has a satin sheen.  It is identical in size to a MAC blush, and the black container seems oddly similar if not identical.

I wanted to insert two swatch photos of this blush because although it does have a nice rosey color at one angle, if you turn just a bit it has an incredibly shimmery aspect to it.  Almost to the point of being un-wearable as a blush and more wearable as a highlighter.  Bummer.  I wonder if all of their blushes are this shimmery?

Lastly we have the Sation, not STATION as I called it in my video (Whoopsie) nail lacquer for IPSY in the shade Love at First Byte.  It is a very lovely naturally pink shade that seems very complimentary and subtle with my skin tone.  The polish went on very smoohtly, no issues with application or streaky strokes.

This is after one coat, no top coat applied.

Here is the brush, very standard sized nail polish brush.  You can sort of see the semi opaque-ish, not quite clear-ish consistency with this color.

This was after two coats and no top coat.  I actually really like this color!  To me this color almost says Bridal Natural Nails.  I will absolutely be wearing this shade very soon, and I will be interested to see how this wears over the course of several days.

Here is the bags value breakdown:

MICA Shadow- $14.95

Be A Bombshell Blush- $16.00

Sation for IPSY Nail Lacquer- $5.00
Website: This was the only place I could find selling their products online http://store.misspn.com/

BigSexyHair POW Powder- Full Sized is .53oz for $15.95, this sample was .07 oz and was worth about $2.15
Website: http://www.ulta.com/ulta/browse/productDetail.jsp?skuId=2215478&productId=xlsImpprod4270041&navAction=push&navCount=1&subdoc=487stylersb2g1wk49&categoryId=cat190008

Total Value of this months bag was: $38.10

Have a beautiful day everyone,

Lime Crime Opaque Lipstick in Centrifuschia

I was so excited to place my first order with Lime Crime as a treat for my recent Birthday.  I had my eyes on two of the opaque lipsticks- one in Centrifuschia and the other in Geradium.  Much to my dismay, when I placed my order the website was sold out of Geradium, so I settled for Centrifuschia and a couple of nail polishes.
First up lets have a closer look at the opaque lipstick in Centrifuschia.  The Lime Crime packaging is probably the most striking, eye catching, just plain adorable presentation that I have ever seen of any lipstick on the market today.

Not only does the box have the holographic signature unicorn with stars, but the actual lipstick tube is the exact same lavender purple shade with the identical print.

Centrifuschia can be best described as a rich raspberry, with a really beautiful bright fuschia undertone.

I must admit that $15.99 seems a bit steep for a lipstick ( I am a bit more conservative when it comes to buying expensive beauty products :-)  HOWEVER (yes a giant HOWEVER)  this lipstick went on extremely smoothly, it left a nice sheen on the lips and was in no way drying.  I am officially in LOVE.  I really wish I was able to buy the Geradium lipstick, but I am sure that one day in the future our paths will cross again and I will pick up that shade to add to my makeup collection.  Here is a photo of it on my lippies.

Pros: Super smooth, moisturizing, vibrant truly opaque color, a beautiful sheen without being overly glossy, great staying power with a very slight staining effect, pleasant very slight scent.

Cons: Online orders can take a long time (mine almost took two weeks and I only live 50 miles from their offices), $15.99 plus tax and shipping is a bit steep, Lime Crime is not widely available, color selections are limited and stock is also very limited.

Overall thoughts:  I would buy another Lime Crime Opaque Lipstick again in an instant.  LOVE IT.
